This is a good hotel if you want a cheap night away in London. Staff were really friendly on both check in and check out. Room was basic but more than adequate and the shower was powerful and hot. It's near City Airport so you get plane noise which is to be expected but there was also a lot of other noise in the night from the floor above, what sounded like furniture being moved so I personally didn't sleep too well.

Staff are lovely but the rooms are a bit tired. My kettle didn't match the base that was in the room. The staff gave me a free coffee to make up for it though.

Car was stolen from car park opposite hotel in the space of HOURS. It is incredibly unsafe to park in any of the car parks round the hotel and staff are VERY aware of the car theft that happens regularly here. They offered no guidance or warning and just wanted us to review them online on their waitering skills while we had just explained our situation... I have never reviewed before but I can’t let others book here thinking it’s a safe area to stay. Do NOT go to this hotel, spend a bit more to stay elsewhere and get staff that are actually interested in supporting you.

Such a shocking experience. There was no hot water for the evening and into the next morning. In the evening after DragCon, we checked and still no hot water and the manager had to move rooms. One of their ovens was not working, meaning that food was an hour wait and people ended up ordering in. There was only one staff member managing the café and reception area and check-in took 20 mins - I felt so sorry for her that there was no other staff to help out. We’ve had positive experiences with this place in the past, however this time was below par on their expectations. We will not be going here again for DragCon.

Location was good. Very disappointed with service we have been stayed for 7days nobody cleaned the for a single time during 7days even we requested in the reception they ask me to change the bedshits by myself and while changing bed shits I found mattress dirty and unhygienic. This is very bad experience I have faced in the hotel .will never come back to this hotel .

I had a lovely time here in Travelodge London Excel. The hotel looked like brand-new, the Standard Room Plus was fantastic, I got a room on the top floor with a view. The room was clean and tidy. The staff was super helpful and kind. The DLR is just a few steps away and it does run late evening too. I would stay here again if I come to visit London.

We booked the hotel for New Year Eve, arrived at 3:30 pm - their check in time is 3pm. It is 4:45pm now and the room is still not ready, we were told staff called in sick etc but it is evident the team were not proactive at all. On enquiring we have been told the manager is finding rooms for us which clearly should have been allocated when we booked weeks ago. When asked to compensate or delay our check out time to balance, we are told check in time is set for noon. We are missing our dinner booked at 5! Definitely would not recommend, regardless of the location, the service really is a huge let down. Their restaurant is full of people waiting to check in.

Nice clean hotel with very good staff. Breakfast was OK. Bed wasn't the best but managed to sleep OK. According to Google maps it's a 21 minute walk to the Excel, or no more than 5 to the nearest DLR then 2 stops away. Close to the airport runway but quiet location none the less m

After doing a 7 day Airbnb share, Travelodge was a very welcome change. I found it comfortable and well located for the DLR.

I stayed during my exams (which were at the Excel) for 5 nights and I couldn’t recommend it enough. The staff were lovely (especially Sammy, CJ and Tim), the room was clean and I had no issues with noise in the evening. The food was fresh and hot and the buffet breakfast was good too. Would definitely recommend!

It’s a travel lodge so you should have your expectations but quiet as the airport isn’t open late. No issues Can’t comment on food as didn’t eat there, but note there isn’t much around About a 15 min walk to Elisabeth line station, or a 5 mins to a DLR

Great budget hotel. As a solo traveller, this hotel is a short walk from the DLR along a well lit road. Great welcome at reception, and nice quiet room allocated. Only lost a point as the room was quiet stuffy, and with no aircon, you either roast or get noise from the trains and aircraft. That said, you quickly get used to the noise. Good all-round hotel.

A wee bit out of the city centre but was no longer a problem after discovering the Prince Albert stop on the DLR, all the staff were lovely, a special mention to Shenay who was especially helpful when we were checking out

Appalling. Rooms smell like sewage, beds creek so much that they wake you up if you breathe too hard. Find another couple quid in your budget at stay and one of the many other hotels around here.

This has to be the dirtiest Travelodge I have ever stayed in. Check in went smoothly but the room I was put in had stains in the carpet, food remnants on the wall and looked as though it had not been hoovered around the edges. The shower curtain had the last visitors make up on it, the toilet had a build up of grime in the bowl and there were some lovely hand print smudges on the bathroom mirror. The shower is great if you like one that turns hot to cold constantly. A colleague of mine stayed in a room which had bed bugs, she got bitten and the staff did nothing to resolve the issue. They were trying not to take responsibility for them. Another colleague of mine was checked into a room which was already occupied. And another colleague had been told their booking length was shorter than what they had actually booked. I would not recommend staying at this hotel and am immensely disappointed at the lack of effort and professionalism from the team. Do better.

Disastrous Check-In Experience Had the misfortune of booking a stay at this hotel with my family. Despite booking and paying in advance, our experience was a complete disaster. Upon arrival, we were informed that no rooms were available, despite our confirmed reservation. The staff nonchalantly suggested we move to another hotel, without any apology or explanation. We were shocked and frustrated, having already paid for our stay. When I raised my voice and after waiting for over an hour, we were finally given a room key. However, when we arrived at the room, we found someone already occupying it! Unbelievable. We were forced to return to the lobby and wait another hour for a resolution. Eventually, we were relocated to another hotel, which was not our original choice. The staff seemed unconcerned about the inconvenience they caused and offered no compensation or gesture of goodwill. Avoid this hotel at all costs, especially if traveling with family. Their booking system and customer service are severely flawed.

Ideally located for excel with ample parking. Sadly the rooms feel a little dated, and could do with better double glazing and a larger TV (don't think seen one this small in years). Stayed in one of the 'plus' rooms, but other than having a kit kat (on day one only), coffee pods & WiFi there was absolutely nothing different with room. If anything it was noisier as closer to the planes going overhead. Even better toiletries than the wall pumped all in one and biscuits each day would make it feel better. Sadly think is a one off and will return to staying at Moxy or Hilton again next year.

We’ve stayed here a few times whilst working at the Excel. It’s one of those hotels that does what it says on the tin. Breakfast and dinner facilities are great given that it’s a Travelodge.

Strange location not really close to anything. The rooms are very basic. The wifi is ridiculous. So if there's more than one person prepare to register multiple emails and fees. The staff are helpful enough. Crazy that going to the Excel might break your room key
